Working People Win Back the White House

Obama with SEIU members and staff

Change has come to America. With the election of Barack Obama as our next President, we'll finally be able to start undoing the damage that has been to our country and working families. And our union was there every step of the way.

This election was won here in Pennsylvania. For months, we have been out walking our neighborhoods, registering new voters and talking to people about health care, the economy and the hope we all have for a better America. Since July, we knocked on almost 800,000 doors, made 176,000 calls, and increased contributions to our political accountability fund.

So today is a day for celebration. The political power of ordinary Americans like us made history. But it is just the beginning.

Tomorrow, our work really begins. Just like this election wouldn't have been won without us; health care reform, economic security and the fight against global warming - can't be won without us.

Make the commitment to keep working for change.
